Rubino di Cantavenna

GRAPES:

Barbera 75/85%, Freisa 10/20%, Grignolino 0/5%.

YIELD:

60 quintals/hectare, obtained by a thorough grapes selection.

IN THE VINEYARD:

In the calcareous soil, and limy marl, are grown very old implantation stumps, whose grapes are attentively selected, making this special wine with great complexity and concentration.

WINE MAKING AND AGING:

In wood for 16 months: 50% in barrique and 50% in big barrel. Further 6 months in bottle.

Color
Dark ruby.
Aroma
typical, with red fruits note followed by spices tobacco and leather.
Taste profile
Velvety and balanced with a medium high finish.

Notes

Elegance, balance, pleasantness are the sensations perceived. Very successful match of different grape varieties where the freshness of Barbera and the tannins of Freisa produce a balanced blend.

To be served at 18 – 20°C.
It can be a lovely match with entrées, meats, mushrooms and medium aged cheese.
